Triathlon now 62% of capacity

on 5/2/2010 by Mike

QSMSports are pleased to report that registrations for the first Kingscliff Triathlon have now increased from 50% to 62%.
Kristina reports that despite a few hiccups with online registrations, we have filled 62% of our capacity in 3 weeks.

Kristina has been advised by TQ that many teams and individuals are waiting to see the routes for the ride and run, but with 3 weeks remaining, it seems the competition capacity may be full in 2 weeks time.

QSMSports understands that competitors wish to see the courses before registering, but encourages our guests to register now before they miss out, and we can always arrange refund if necessary.

Meetings with our  event stakeholders, Tweed Shire Council, NSW Police and Tweed Tourism have continued with final routes now being detailed by Friday the 5th of February. Subject to permits, a 10km loop north along Marine Parade is likely, with the run heading south on a 5km loop towards Salt. A detailed information package will be emailed to competitors on the 8th.

Kristina wishes to also thank all those competitors and supporters who have called to discuss, make suggestions for our first Tri event. As you know a decision was only made the week of Xmas to conduct the March Tri and obviously it takes time to plan a new Triathlon, open registrations etc.... So a big thanks to all those competitors for their early registrations. Accommodation and meals options will also be available by the 5th.
