Ride to Teneriffe next weekend

On Sunday 18 July, hundreds of sporting enthusiasts will cycle and run in the ‘Fusion Games @ Teneriffe.’ Young and old, amateur and elite will come together for a series of races starting at 7am a route in Skyring Tce, Wyandra St and Longland St in Newstead/Teneriffe.

Hamilton Ward Councillor David McLachlan says the event has the potential to evolve into a key event on the sporting calendar, similar to the former Brisbane Criterium Championships held at South Bank.

“This event has already gained the support of enthusiasts Brisbane wide, local businesses and major corporate companies invested in the Newstead/Teneriffe waterfront”, he said.The brain child of local business Fusion Cycles and QSM Sports, organisers

have pledged to donate monies raised to Variety, the Children’s Charity delivering much needed support to sick and disadvantaged children across Queensland.

Councillor McLachlan encourages families and cycling fanatics alike to register for the games on www.qsmsports.com.

“Many residents who visit my office are often chasing information on Brisbane’s bikeway network and I suggest to these residents, this is an event not to be missed.”
